(Washington, D.C.)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, announced he has helped secure more than $5.6 million in federal funding to support the creation of a new water district in the Town of Rush. The completion of this project will provide public water to the town and help improve the overall health, welfare, and safety of residents.

(Washington, D.C.)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle highlighted yesterday’s hearing of the Committee on House Administration, which discussed the far-reaching impact of the recent Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and the overturning of the Chevron doctrine. The Chevron doctrine set the longstanding precedent that Congress and the executive branch should be the primary policymakers in government.

The bipartisan Providing Resources for Emergency Preparedness and Resilient Enterprises (PREPARE) Act would create a Small Business Administration (SBA) Pre-Disaster Mitigation Loan Program to help small businesses take preventative action to bolster their infrastructure in preparation for future flooding events.

(Rochester, NY)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle joined with community partners to announce he has secured $300,000 for Rochester ENergy Efficiency and Weatherization (RENEW)—a collective impact initiative of the Rochester Area Community Foundation that provides energy efficiency grants for low-income homeowners.

The effects of climate change pose an existential threat to our environment as we know it. We need bold investments to secure the long-term health and vitality of our planet before it’s too late.

I have always stood up to protect our environment, and I’m continuing that work in Congress by supporting measures to reduce our carbon emissions, protect our critical natural resources, invest in sustainability, and help protect our planet for future generations.
