CONGRESSMAN JOE MORELLE REFUSES TO FUND ICE, CBP

(Washington, D.C.)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle released the following statement on his vote against funding for the Department of Homeland Security, which gives a blank check to out of control agencies like ICE and CBP:

“House Republicans today rejected a bipartisan compromise that would have funded TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard. Instead, they passed a hyper-partisan resolution which funds ICE agents and ignores common-sense reforms to ICE that an overwhelming majority of Americans demand.

“I strongly oppose this reckless approach that leaves American families less safe.”
