(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Representatives Joe Morelle and Tom Reed sent the attached letter urging the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to consider the Greater Rochester-Finger Lakes region as the site for the new headquarters of the National Institute for Food and Agriculture and the Economic Research Service. The Greater Rochester region was recently included in the first round of sites for consideration for the new headquarters.

“We reiterate that the Rochester and Finger Lakes region has many advantages to offer the USDA, including reliable transportation networks, the availability of broadband access, move-in and shovel-ready rural and urban site locations, and excellent academic institutions to support employee recruitment and training,” write Reps. Morelle and Reed in the letter.
