Enacting Common Sense Gun Reform

Mass shootings and neighborhood violence have become all too common in our communities, and we cannot stand idly by as senseless gun violence continues to claim innocent lives. I have made my position clear: meaningful, common-sense gun reform is an absolute necessity.

I’m proud to support numerous pieces of legislation to keep families safe from gun violence, including measures to ban assault weapons, enact universal background checks, ban the sale of high-capacity magazines, reduce gun theft and trafficking, and more. I have also authored and introduced legislation to strengthen regulations on gun shops and prevent the flow of illegal weapons onto our streets and into the hands of criminals.

I’ve spent my entire career fighting for gun reform and it’s one of my top priorities in Congress. Together we have made progress, but there is still so much work to do to keep families safe.

I'm proud to co-sponsor:
