Military Academy Nominations

Instructions
The U.S. military service academies are prestigious, four-year, degree-granting institutions and a major officer commissioning source for the Armed Forces. The five academies are:
- U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY (U.S. Army)
- U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD (U.S. Navy and Marine Corps)
- U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO (U.S. Air Force and Space Force).
- U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT (U.S. Coast Guard)
- U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY (U.S. Merchant Marine)
The honor of attending a service academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review the page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Military Academy Nomination.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to the U.S. Military Academy; the U.S. Naval Academy; the U.S. Air Force Academy; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Members may nominate up to ten individuals to each academy per year. To request a nomination from our office, please complete the form below.
