CONGRESSMAN JOE MORELLE ANNOUNCES CONGRESSIONAL ART COMPETITION WINNER, PITTSFORD STUDENT JENNY LI

July 1, 2020

(Washington, DC) – Today, Congresswoman Joe Morelle announced Pittsford student Jenny Li as the winner of her 2020 Congressional Art Competition. This is Rep. Morelle's second Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Monroe Country since taking office. A panel from Rochester's Memorial Art Gallery led by Rachael Baldanza reviewed student submissions before ultimately selecting Li's piece, Queen of Hearts, as the winning artwork.

"We're incredibly lucky that our community is home to so many talented artists and innovators," said Congressman Morelle. "Jenny Li's art is captivating, and I'm so proud that she'll be representing Monroe County here in the nation's Capitol."

Pending health and safety COVID-19 restrictions, Li's piece will fly to Washington D.C. where the Congressional Institute will honor her work alongside participating congressional districts from across the Country. Her artwork will be displayed in the United States Capitol for an entire year and featured on the official Congressional Art Competition website.

Over 650,00 students have participated in the Congressional Art Competition since its founding in 1982.
