CONGRESSMAN JOE MORELLE CALLS ON POSTMASTER GENERAL TO ADDRESS SEVERE DELAYS IN SERVICE

August 4, 2020

After hearing from constituents, Morelle demands answers on changes to USPS that have negatively impacted delivery standards across the community

(Rochester, NY) – Today, Congressman Joe Morelle released a letter (attached) calling on the Postmaster General to address the significant delays in service being reported across the community. This comes after several constituents reached out to Rep. Morelle's office to share their concerns about recent United States Postal Service (USPS) issues.

"The dependability of the Postal Service is especially critical at this time when we are experiencing an unprecedented juncture with a global pandemic, a census, and an election," writes Rep. Morelle in the letter. "People need important medications delivered, people need their census forms, and people need their ballot information. The organization you lead is a vital part of America's critical infrastructure and as such we should be looking for ways to make the service even more reliable during these uncertain times."
