CONGRESSMAN JOE MORELLE CALLS ON SPEAKER JOHNSON TO CEASE UNNECESSARY DELAY OF APPROPRIATIONS PROCESSES

Urges Speaker to initiate Fiscal Year 2025 appropriations process without delay to prevent yet another funding crisis
(Washington, DC) — Today Congressman Joe Morelle, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, called on House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson to take immediate action to begin preparing for the Fiscal Year 2025 appropriations process. In a letter, Congressman Morelle urged the Speaker to prioritize fiscal responsibility and take action to prevent a dangerous and avoidable funding crisis or government shutdown.
“House Republicans have already demonstrated a clear disregard for fiscal responsibility by delaying the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process. We cannot allow the same to happen for 2025,” said Congressman Morelle. “I’m calling on Speaker Johnson to take immediate action to begin the appropriations process in good faith and prevent yet another funding crisis that would harm the American people.”
