CONGRESSMAN JOE MORELLE NAMES IBERO PRESIDENT ANGELICA PEREZ-DELGADO AS GUEST TO STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
Highlights Angie’s ongoing work to strengthen lives and expand opportunity across the Rochester region
(Rochester, N.Y.)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle announced Angelica (Angie) Perez-Delgado, President and CEO of the Ibero-American Action League Inc., will be his guest to President Trump’s State of the Union Address to Congress.
“For this year’s State of the Union Address, I want to highlight a dedicated partner in our efforts to uplift Rochester families and build brighter futures for everyone who calls our community home,” said Congressman Joe Morelle. “Angie is a longtime friend and powerful advocate for our community, and, through her work at the Ibero-American Action League Inc., is constantly looking for new ways to connect people with the resources and services they need to thrive. I’m honored to have her as my guest to the State of the Union Address to showcase how, even in the face of unprecedented challenges, Rochester never backs down from the fight to support our neighbors.”
“I am deeply honored to join Congressman Morelle at the State of the Union,” said Angelica Perez-Delgado, President and CEO of the Ibero-American Action League Inc. “This invitation is not about me; it represents the resilient families and vulnerable communities we serve every day. At the Ibero-American Action League Inc., our work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves dignity, opportunity, and the support to thrive. I am proud to stand on behalf of Rochester and the individuals whose strength and determination inspire our mission everyday.”
In 2018, Angelica (Angie) Perez-Delgado was named the seventh President and CEO in the 50-year history of the Ibero-American Action League. Angie had previously worked at the Villa of Hope, where she served as Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Compliance Officer. She has over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector and began her career as a substance abuse therapist before transitioning into administration in the last decade.
Angie considers herself deeply blessed to have emerged from the city’s North Clinton neighborhood with a renewed sense of purpose. Despite experiencing poverty and dropping out of high school, she transformed her life through the same services she leads today. Her firsthand experience with broken systems as a young teenage mother prepared her to return to her roots and serve as the President and CEO of the Ibero-American Action League Inc.
