"From the very beginning, Donald Trump and his administration have failed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic with the urgency or gravity this public health crisis demands. By continuing to ignore scientists and experts, Trump and his administration have made their priorities clear: they value their own political agenda far more than the health and safety of the American people.

"As our economy begins to re-open and we look towards resuming a sense of normalcy, all of our containment, mitigation, and tracing efforts will be thwarted if we do not have accurate testing and data. We need quick, affordable, accessible COVID testing for every American—and we need it now. I'm calling on the President to utilize the Defense Production Act to ramp up testing immediately and demonstrate the leadership the American people deserve.

"I'll continue working with my colleagues in Congress to deliver the relief families need, but we need Donald Trump to stand up and work alongside us in good faith."
