(Rochester, N.Y.)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle issued the below statement following the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.

“I am pleased to see India and Pakistan have reached agreement on a ceasefire. I am optimistic this agreement will hold and allow for diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

“Sustained peace in the region—and across the world—is vital for global security, and I am hopeful a long-term agreement can be reached to bring about lasting peace.”
