(Rochester, N.Y.) — Today, Congressman Joe Morelle marked the start of Hunger Action Month and the new school year bytaking action to increase food accessibility, lower costs for families, and combat child hunger in Rochester.
(Rochester, NY) - Congressman Joe Morelle has introduced bipartisan legislation with Rep. Katko (R-NY), and Sen. Merkley (D-OR) to combat summer learning loss, which is especially prevalent in low-income communities, and ensure children have access to healthy food options.
Today, Congressmen Joe Morelle (D-NY-25) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-1) re-introduced the Delivering Elderly Lunches and Increasing Volunteer Engagement and Reimbursements (DELIVER) Act to support volunteers in programs which help deliver food to older, more vulnerable Americans. This legislation would also help eliminate barriers to reaching more individuals for charitable organizations like Meals on Wheels.

With this funding, Foodlink will be able to cover the costs of a much-needed refrigerator expansion that will allow them to stock more fresh produce and better meet the growing needs of our community.
