March 25, 2021 (Rochester, NY) – Today, Congressman Joe Morelle announced nearly $25 million in funding for local community health centers to help ensure COVID-19 vaccinations reach every community. The funding, allocated by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of the American Rescue Plan, will support Anthony L. Jordan Health Corporation, Mosaic Health, Oak Orchard, and Rochester Regional Health.
(Washington, DC) – Today, Congressman Joe Morelle released a letter (attached) sent to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy urging action to end the predatory practice of surprise billing that leaves patients with massive, unexpected charges after receiving emergency medical care. In the letter, Rep. Morelle led a group of 43 bipartisan colleagues to push for the use of a meaningful independent dispute resolution system to take patients out of the middle and ensure a fair outcome.
