(Rochester, NY) – Today, Congressman Joe Morelle and Foodlink reiterated their strong opposition to the Trump Administration's proposed changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) following an alarming new analysis by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The report says that as many as 982,000 children would lose automatic access to free school lunches – double the number previously predicted.

(Washington, D.C.) – This week, Congressmen Joe Morelle (NY-25), Max Rose (NY-11), and Marc Veasey (TX-33) introduced legislation that would use savings from Medicare prescription drug negotiations to lower Medicare Part D costs for low-income seniors.

H.R. 4620, the More Help for Seniors Act of 2019, would raise the income limits for eligibility under the Medicare Part D low-income subsidy program, which would help low-income seniors and individuals with disabilities afford life-saving medications by lowering copays and premiums for Medicare Part D.

The Lower Drug Costs Now Act (H.R. 3), which Rep. (Rochester, NY) – Today, Congressman Joe Morelle announced that Monroe Community College (MCC) has been awarded a $4.4 million grant by the Office of Naval Research for their Defense Engineering Education Program in Optics (DEEP OPS). This program will increase the national optics workforce through innovative training programs that will prepare students for these high-demand jobs that support the Department of Defense.
