(CBS) for failing to televise any of the three American Sign Language (ASL) performances during last night’s Super Bowl pre-game show, including one by local graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Institute for the Deaf, Daniel Durant.

(Rochester, NY)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle was joined by County Executive Adam Bello and Mayor Malik Evans for the grand opening of Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services (REVS) following the closure of the region’s only twenty-four-hour emergency pet care facility. Congressman Joe Morelle brought together veterinarians and local government to develop a plan and secure funding for this new center.

The provisions of Congressman Morelle’s American Investment in Manufacturing (AIM) Act were included as part of the Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act, enacting a technical change to the U.S. Tax Code allowing businesses to continue deducting interest expenses.

In a letter, Congressman Morelle urged the Speaker to prioritize fiscal responsibility and take action to prevent a dangerous and avoidable funding crisis or government shutdown.

(Washington, DC)—Today, Congressman Joe Morelle announced he has authored bipartisan legislation to stop the spread of deepfake pornography generated by artificial intelligence (AI)—HR 3106, the Preventing Deepfakes of Intimate Images Act. He was joined Dorota and Francesca Mani who are working to pass HR 3106 after their difficulty finding help when Francesca and her classmates were the target of deepfakes at a New Jersey High School.

(Washington, DC) - Today, Congressman Joe Morelle (D-NY) and Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY) announced introduction of the Hunger Clearinghouse Enhancement Act of 2023 to reduce food insecurity for families across the nation. The legislation would increase funding for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Hunger Clearinghouse Hotline to improve access to food assistance, nutrition, and social services information for families in need. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) has introduced the Senate companion bill.
